Greetings all and happy February. We have had a very mild winter so far her on Vancouver island, with snow drops and daffodils already coming up. Interesting auction results from Mecum Las Vegas last week. A lovely ’52 Vincent Black shadow went for $90K, a fully restored ’74 Ducati 750SS green frame for $99K, and a ’75 Laverda 750SFC for $66K. Still a pretty strong demand for very early American board trackers and early Japanese standards, but only if in mint condition. Online auctions and platforms like Marketplace continue to make it easier to buy and sell beyond just our own neighbourhoods.
And in a world that is becoming more and more foreign to us, one of the few things we can count on is the joy of owning a great old bike (or 10) from a simpler time. Be safe- have fun!
