This is a numbers matching (frame and engine SN), 1967, CB77, 305 Superhawk, which was built with all original, NOS and period original parts, inspired by the Honda RC163 factory team racer. Literally every nut and bolt has been refurbished and assembled from a parts list. The tank and seat are hand made aluminum from Holt Works in England, copied from an original RC163 tank and seat. The seat is suede covered and stitched to match the original, and the paint, stripes and badges also match exactly. The engine is bored 4 over, with a MegaCycle “TT” cam, NOS Italian high compression pistons, Delorto SS1 carbs from a 1967 Ducati GP race bike, hand made steel reverse cone open pipes in matte black, and hand made stainless mufflers for the street-both from Cone Engineering in California. Three angle valve grind, ported heads, hand made aluminum intakes, and high tension valve and clutch springs. The wiring harness is hand made from scratch, and includes wiring for headlight, tail light, horn and starter, for street use, if desired. New brakes, bearings, seals, race compound tires, lithium battery. The bike is currently push start. The kick starter comes with but the pin needs to be replaced as the compression is too great for the original pin. An original electric starter could be installed, but does not come with the bike. The bike fits a short rider as is, but would benefit from rear set pegs. The bike has been run twice, but never ridden. Comes with slides and jets for tuning, and a selection of spare parts. The professional appraisal, shop manual and parts manual are also available. Photo record of the build is also available. Appraised at $20,000 CAD “the bike shows as a 10 out of 10 if being judged", the bike cost $14,000 CAD in parts, plus 200 hours of labour to build.
The bike is located on Saltspring island, BC and is offered at $17,000.
