Channel your inner Steve McQueen while you imagine yourself ripping across the California desert on a sunny weekend! This is your chance to own the iconic 650cc TR6C desert sled (aka “Trophy Special”). This is a matching numbers motorcycle that was restored over several years and finished in 2012. Approximately 1000 miles have been covered since restoration was completed. The bike is mostly stock except for a later model front end with superior TLS brake and some nods to modernity like an electronic ignition and high-output charging system. The engine was completely rebuilt from the crankshaft up with new piston rings and crankshaft bearings. The gearbox was rebuilt and the Amal Monobloc carbureter sleeved and rebuilt. Many new parts were employed in the refurbishment including ignition coils, shocks, fork stanchions, primary chain, drive chain, exhaust system, wheel bearings etc. Motorcycle was professionally painted in the correct 1967 Sea Mist Green/Arctic White which many consider to be Triumph’s finest colour combination. The bike runs beautifully, sounds fantastic, and is a hoot to ride. The seller notes that the odometer function of the speedometer is not currently functioning and there is a small dent in the top of the fuel tank that doesn’t detract from the overall appearance. It is time to move this bike along for someone else to enjoy. This motorcycle is located on Saltspring Island, BC and is offered at $7900 CAD.
